Many people thought, 2002 would be the year of Critical Mass. At the
weekend before the championship, Race#10 could be seen in the right
condition to top last year´s 2nd place in Gold. It was beautiful as
always and sounded impressively great. The team seemed to be really
satisfied about Tom Dwelle´s powerful racer. But then after a success-
ful testride Murphy came by: While taxiing back to the ramp suddenly
the main gear collapsed and race#10 bellied down. Unfortunately the
resulting damage was too big, to come back to racing conditition until
Wednesday. We feel very sorry for Tom, Peggy, Ken and all the other
team-members. Hopefully Critical Mass will be back next year.
